An accredited forestry program
SFA’s Bachelor of Science in forestry is accredited by the Society of American Foresters. This accreditation means that when you study forestry at SFA, you’re getting a high-quality education that meets the standards set by the Society of American Foresters. Students who graduate from accredited forestry programs typically have more success acquiring professional licenses and certifications – and it also means that they have a competitive edge when applying for jobs or graduate school. This also allows graduates to be eligible for certification at the national level as a SAF Certified Forester and eligible for accreditations and certifications at the state level, like the Texas Accredited Forester program.
With a forestry degree from SFA students are also eligible to become Certified Arborists under the International Society of Arboriculture.
Students who graduate with the forest wildlife management option are also qualified to become Certified Wildlife Biologists with the Wildlife Society.
