About the Rocking KSAU 90.1 - The AXE
KSAU 90.1 FM is a student run radio station for students pursuing a degree in the radio/television field within the Department of Mass Communication at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Our station broadcast at 4800-watts and is a non-commercial radio station on the FM frequency, 90.1. We are an alternative station that plays alternative rock 7-days a week, 24 hours a day.
Outside of music you'll hear weather forecast every hour on the half hour, sports updates, news reports and various live events/remotes throughout the school year. You will also hear Public Service Announcements played throughout the day from different organizations in and around the Nacogdoches Area. We welcome new PSAS & music to consider for on-air play.
KSAU is managed professionally by a faculty advisor/general manager, a graduate assistant serving as station manager, and several other student managers acting as music, news, and sports directors. Our entire on-air staff is comprised of SFA students enrolled in the Audio Production (MCOM 2303) and Capstone class (MCOM 4320).These classes offer students a chance to learn valuable information about radio and gain experience working in a professional environment. KSAU offers students a hands-on training facility and gives them the opportunity to work as on-air disc-jockeys, news reporters, sports reporters, production and promotion assistants, talent for various remotes throughout each semester, and much more.
