This concentration is offered within the Bachelor of Science in biology program.

You have a passion for preserving our planet. This degree turns that passion into a career. You’ll protect habitats, manage resources and safeguard the future of our ecosystems. There are opportunities in state and national agencies, zoos, museums and botanical gardens. Graduates often find themselves developing plant-based, life-saving medicines or teaching others how to interpret the natural world.

Come gain hands-on experience in our labs and research facilities. Our unique field sites include:

  • a large greenhouse and herbarium
  • extensive specimen collections
  • thousands of hectares of forest
  • and all four of Texas' National Forests.

Priority deadlines

SFA has rolling admissions. That means you can apply to the university anytime. Although, applying early has financial and housing benefits. Make sure to check with your specific department! Some programs need extra paperwork by a certain date to consider you for the upcoming semester.
