Certification requirements
You will prepare for several key benchmarks to earn your Texas teaching license. Success in this program involves:
- TASC assessment Pass this sign communication test before starting your clinical teaching.
- TExES 181 exam Demonstrate your knowledge of deaf education best practices.
- Special Education edTPA Complete this final assessment to verify your teaching readiness.

SFA has rolling admissions. That means you can apply to the university anytime. Although, applying early has financial and housing benefits. Make sure to check with your specific department! Some programs need extra paperwork by a certain date to consider you for the upcoming semester.
