Teaching high school English allows you to ignite a passion for language in the next generation. This program provides the tools you need to build engaging lessons and manage a successful learning environment. A degree in English with a focus on education opens doors to rewarding positions in schools across the state.

This concentration in the English, BA program requires 120 credit-hours. The curriculum includes specialized coursework in grammar, pedagogy and young adult literature. You also will attend an essential Shakespeare course to ensure you can teach classical drama effectively.

SFA has rolling admissions. That means you can apply to the university anytime. Although, applying early has financial and housing benefits. Make sure to check with your specific department! Some programs need extra paperwork by a certain date to consider you for the upcoming semester.
