This concentration is offered within the Bachelor of Science in kinesiology program.

Lead the next generation of athletes

Ignite a passion for movement and health in students of all ages by using the skills to manage active learning environments and motivate young learners from early childhood through grade 12.

This program provides the preparation you need to become a certified physical education teacher in Texas. You'll study how children develop physically and learn the best strategies to keep them engaged in sports and fitness.

Path to certification

This professional preparation ensures you're ready to earn certification from the Texas Education Agency. You'll complete specialized training in team and individual sports, motor learning and activities for special populations.

You will also complete professional education requirements and clinical teaching experiences to ensure you are ready for your first day on the job.

SFA has rolling admissions. That means you can apply to the university anytime. Although, applying early has financial and housing benefits. Make sure to check with your specific department! Some programs need extra paperwork by a certain date to consider you for the upcoming semester.
