Hands-on learning
The STEM Building will be your haven of exploring with cutting-edge tools to turn your ideas into functional prototypes. Your coursework combines mechanical design with electronics and computer science, giving you a complete view of how machines operate.
The curriculum focuses on essential skills like industrial control systems, robotics, digital electronics and CNC machining. You will program robotic arms, integrate sensors and gain the confidence to manage complex systems that power modern industry.
Essential requirements
Your degree plan includes participation in a co-op experience and you'll work with a faculty advisor to ensure your placement offers meaningful technical experience. When you co-op is finished, you'll prepare a formal engineering report and present your findings to your peers and faculty members.
Requirements for admission to SFA
All applicants must meet the undergraduate admission requirements. Select the option that best describes you:
- First-year student (have never enrolled in college)
- Transfer student (have enrolled in college)

Priority deadlines
SFA has rolling admissions. That means you can apply to the university anytime. Although, applying early has financial and housing benefits. Make sure to check with your specific department! Some programs need extra paperwork by a certain date to consider you for the upcoming semester.
