Exam Services

Disability Services offers exam proctoring services to assist instructors with providing exam accommodations. Our exam rooms help to ensure that students’ accessibility needs are met, without compromising the integrity or security of the exam. We highly encourage students to meet with each instructor to discuss if there is a location in the Academic Department where the exam can be taken.  If space is not available within the department, confirm with the faculty member that you will schedule your exams in Disability Services through the online AIM Student Portal.

Student Testing Procedures

Scheduling Exams

  • In general, all exams will be administered at the regularly scheduled time of the class, unless scheduling conflicts exist. Disability Services will need written or verbal approval from the instructor to take the exam at an alternate time. Exam requests will not be accepted until confirmation is received.
  • For scheduling purposes advance notice of 2 working days is requested for all exams.  During heavy exam periods such as mid-terms and final exams, 14 days advance notice is required.
  • Advance notice of 2 working days is required to request a service provider or any special equipment needed for an exam.  Please make note in the comments section of request to confirm special instructions.

Checking Your Exam Schedule

  • Check with Disability Services regarding confirmations of the dates and times of your scheduled exams. Note: You will receive a confirmation email following your online reservation.
  • It is the student’s responsibility to verify that the exam is scheduled correctly.
  • You are strongly encouraged to send a friendly email reminder to your instructors informing them of the date and time of your exam in Disability Services.
  • Review the exam schedule closely to ensure you will have sufficient time to complete your exams during Disability Services office hours of 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • If conflicts arise due to multiple exams, it is your responsibility to contact your professor to arrange for an alternate time to take the exam. Written approval to dstesting@sfasu.edu is required.

Changing Exam Dates/Times

If your schedule changes for any reason, it is your responsibility to notify our office of those changes. Modify request online, by email, phone or in person.
