Welcome to the Office of Disability Services! Faculty and staff play a critical role in promoting access and inclusion for students with disabilities at SFA. Students registered with DS are encouraged to communicate and collaborate with their faculty to ensure that appropriate accommodations are implemented for equal access to their education.

Syllabus Statement

Students with disabilities are legally entitled to request accommodations at any time during the semester. Faculty members are encouraged to help students identify their needs early by including an accommodation statement on their course syllabi.  An accommodation statement may read:


Students with Disabilities

To obtain disability related accommodations, alternate formats and/or auxiliary aids, students with disabilities must contact the Office of Disability Services, Human Services Building, Room 325, or call 936-468-3004, as early as possible in the semester. Once verified, DS will notify the course instructor and outline the accommodation and/or auxiliary aids to be provided. Failure to request services in a timely manner may delay your accommodations.
