The iCare Ambassador program exists for the purpose of:
- continuing to break down the stigma surrounding mental illness
- making trained professionals and helpful resources more widely available
- and empowering faculty and staff members to help our students in need.
iCare Ambassadors receive extensive training to help our students be successful, particularly with accessing different campus resources. Comprising SFA faculty and staff members, these ambassadors represent multiple departments from across campus and are available to speak with you about any issue or concern. They serve as resource brokers to connect you quickly and efficiently with needed on-campus resources.

My favorite part about SFA is the people. The students, staff and faculty are what makes SFA home to so many.
I am pretty fond of SFA and axe handles, and I received both my BS and MS from SFA. I am now pursuing my PhD in family and consumer sciences education with a focus on youth development at Texas Tech University.

My favorite part about SFA is that it feels like home. Students, faculty and staff always mention how SFA is like a family, and I agree. From the moment I got here as a student, I knew that everyone I met would help me face any challenge, and I've never been disappointed.
Things students should know about me is that I'm hilarious, at least in my own mind, and that I'm always ready to listen and help them solve an issue. I don't always have the answer, but I certainly will help them figure out what they really need!
While I may not be the most interesting person in the world, I do lead an interesting life. I'm wholly dedicated to my day job, but, when I'm not at work, I'm probably playing with my kids — yep, my baby goat kids! During pandemic lockdown, my husband and I rediscovered ourselves as new farmers, and we're growing our little farm of miniature animals. Up next, a mini cow!

My favorite things about SFA are the strong sense of tradition and all the opportunities for students to get involved in campus life. I have a Doctor of Arts in political science with a social science cognate in anthropology. I have worked in a variety of higher education settings including advising as well as diversity, equity and inclusion roles. I also have been a small-town librarian, private music teacher and political consultant. I am originally from Idaho, but I have lived all over the U.S. I am an avid reader and podcast listener who loves to travel and collect Crocs.

The size of SFA allows students to receive personal attention from faculty and staff while also experiencing the type of support larger universities offer. My calling is to work with students. I am available and I want to help. A fun fact about me is that I was born in Nacogdoches, but my family moved away when I was 6 months old. I grew up in Fort Worth, and I didn't come back to Nacogdoches until I was hired to work at SFA in 2014.

I love SFA because it is like my extended family. It gives me support when I need it, and I have developed some great friendships here. The campus itself is beautiful because our grounds are very well kept. Students who come through our department know my door is always open, and I welcome anyone to come sit, talk, share or ask for help and advice. Organization, honesty and loyalty are important drivers in my life. Spanish is my first language, and I enjoy cooking and spending time with my family.

I absolutely love SFA. The campus is beautiful, the community is wonderful, and there are countless opportunities to reinvent yourself. I chose to work here after graduation because I want to help other SFA students succeed despite the challenges they face. Contact me if you need assistance or support.

My favorite part about SFA is the community. Faculty, staff and students make SFA a welcoming place to be. I love my role here because of the relationships that I am able to build with our students. I had wonderful advisors who helped me reach my potential in college, and I want to do the same for our amazing students here at SFA. An interesting fact about me is that I'm an amateur boxer, and I won the 2022 East Texas Golden Gloves Championship in the Heavyweight division.
