Key dates

  • Full Fall term: Aug. 28 to Dec. 15
  • First Billing Statement: July 31
  • Payment Plans: available July 31 to Aug. 24

  • Short-term Loans: available Aug. 11 to Aug. 24
    • You must have a $0 prior balance.

Full Fall - Aug. 28 to Dec. 15

July 31
  • First billing statements for fall terms are emailed to your mySFA email account. These emails are generated thereafter on a weekly basis.
  • Payment Plans become available. You must have a $0 past due balance.
Aug.10
  • Past-due balances due to avoid being dropped from all of your registered courses.
Aug. 11
  • Noon drop for owing past-due balance. Any unpaid prior balance amounting $200 or more will result in your being dropped from all of your registered courses.
  • Short-term loans begin. You must have a $0 past due balance. Visit the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship's Loans webpage for more information.
  • Installment for Early Payment Plan is due.
    • $25 Late Installment Fee charged if installment is not paid by this deadline.
Aug. 21
  • Financial aid posted to student accounts.
  • Barnes and Noble charges against credit balances begin.
Aug. 24
  • First Installment for Payment Plan #1 and #2 is due.
    • $25 Late Installment Fee charged if installment is not paid by this deadline.
  • Current amounts due must be paid through one of the following options:
    • make payment in full
    • enroll in a Payment Plan and make the first installment by due date
    • or apply for a short-term loan.

    Aug. 28
    • Full Fall begins.
    • $25 Late Registration Fee begins.
    Aug. 29
    • Cash advances begin through BankMobile Disbursements on credit balances ​​​​​​.
    Sept. 5
    • Barnes and Noble charges against credit balances end.
    Sept. 6
    • Cash advances end through BankMobile Disbursements on credit balances.

    Sept. 12
    • Deadline to drop with 100% refund. You must remain enrolled (cannot drop to zero hours) to be eligible for a refund on a dropped course.
    • Installment for your Payment Plan is due.
      • $25 Late Installment Fee charged if second installment is not paid by this deadline.
    Sept. 13
    • Late Add Fee begins. You'll be charged $50 per credit hour and may add classes only upon approval from the course instructor, department chair and the academic dean.
    • Manual drop for nonpayment of current amounts due at noon for all Full Fall classes. To register, add or change classes you must pay current amounts due through one of the following options:
      • make payment in full
      • enroll in a Payment Plan and make the first installment by due date
      • or apply for a short-term loan.
    • Reinstatement Fee begins after drops. You'll be charged $50 per credit hour if you're re-registering for a course from which you were previously dropped. Full payment must be made for reinstatement.
    • Refunds begin weekly.
    Sept. 22
    • Last day to apply for an exemption or waiver (except the Hazlewood Exemption).
    • 4 p.m. deadline for late adds and reinstatements.
    • Deadline to withdraw with a partial refund for Full Fall courses.
    Oct. 13
    • Installment for your Payment Plan is due.
      • $25 Late Installment Fee charged if third installment is not paid by this deadline.
    Nov. 7
    • Full payment of repayment plans and short-term loans is due.
      • $25 Late Payment Fee charged on any balances for repayment plans and short-term loans.
    Nov. 10
    • Installment for your Payment Plan is due.
      • $25 Late Installment Fee charged if fourth installment is not paid by this deadline.
    Nov. 22 to 26
    • Student Business Services is closed for Thanksgiving Break.
    Dec. 15
    • Last day of Full Fall.

      Refunds upon withdrawal

      If you're officially withdrawing from the university, you may be eligible for a refund of tuition and certain fees. The refund amount is based on the date the university is notified of your withdrawal.

      Refunds for a dropped course

      A student dropping one or more classes but remaining enrolled (taking more than zero hours) is eligible for a 100% refund of tuition and certain fees according to the following schedules:

      • Full Fall: On or before 4 p.m. Sept. 12
      • Fall I: On or before 4 p.m. Aug. 31
      • Fall II: On or before 4 p.m. Oct. 26

       

      Refund dates for withdrawal or dropped courses may be modified at any time without prior notice in order to comply with state and federal guidelines.
