Dates and Deadlines

This schedule is tentative and dates are subject to change.

Key dates

  • Course registration: March 22 to July 5
  • First Billing Statement: April 10
  • Installment Payment Plans: available April 10
    • You must have a $0 prior balance.
  • Short-term Loans: available April 28
    • You must have a $0 prior balance.
  • Maymester payment: due May 4
  • Full Summer payment: due May 4
  • Summer I payment: due May 25
  • Summer II payment: due June 29

Important: If you're in a combination of parts-of-term, your current amounts due must be paid by the earlier deadline. For example, if you're enrolled in Maymester and Summer I classes, payment for both parts-of-term are due May 4.

Detailed dates and deadline schedules

Maymester

March 22
  • Early registration begins.
April 10
  • First billing statements for summer terms are emailed to your mySFA email account. These emails are generated thereafter on a weekly basis.
April 26
  • Past-due balances due to avoid being dropped from summer courses.
April 27
  • Noon drop for past-due balance. Any unpaid balance amounting $200 or more will result in your being dropped from all of your registered courses.
April 28
  • Short-term loans begin. You must have a $0 prior balance. Visit the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship's Loans webpage for more information.
May 4
  • Current amounts due must be paid through one of the following options:
    • make payment in full
    • enroll in a Payment Plan and make the first installment by due date
    • or apply for a short-term loan.
May 5
  • Noon drop for nonpayment for all Maymester classes.
  • Deadline to withdraw with 100% refund.
May 8
  • Maymester begins.
May 9
  • 5 p.m. deadline to drop with 100% refund. You must remain enrolled (cannot drop to zero hours) to be eligible for a refund on a dropped course.
May 10
  • Repayment plans and short-term loans charged back to student accounts.
  • Late Add Fee begins. You'll be charged $50 per credit hour and may add classes only upon approval from the course instructor, department chair and the academic dean.
May 12
  • Manual drop, no refund. To register, add or change classes you must pay current amounts due through one of the following options:
    • make payment in full
    • enroll in a Payment Plan and make the first installment by due date
    • or apply for a short-term loan
  • Reinstatement Fee begins. You'll be charged $50 per credit hour if you're re-registering for a course from which you were previously dropped.
May 23
  • Last day of Maymester.

 

 

Summer I

March 22
  • Early registration begins.

  • Three-Installment Payment Plan #2: first day to enroll in the three-payment plan for Summer I.
May 24

  • Three-Installment Payment Plan #2: last day to enroll in the three-payment plan.
  • Installment for #2 payment plan is due before noon.
    • $25 Late Installment Fee charged if installment is not paid by this deadline.
  • Current amounts due must be paid through one of the following options:
    • make payment in full
    • enroll in a Payment Plan and make the first installment by due date

May 26

      • Installment for your payment plan is due.

        May 29

        Withdrawal refund schedule

        A student officially withdrawing from the university is eligible for a refund of tuition and certain fees according to the following schedules:

        Maymester

        Dropped course refund schedule

        A student dropping one or more classes but remaining enrolled (taking more than zero hours) is eligible for a 100% refund of tuition and certain fees according to the following schedules:

        • Maymester: On or before 5 p.m. May 9
        • Summer I: On or before 5 p.m. June 5
        • Summer II: On or before 5 p.m. July 10
        • Full Summer: On or before 5 p.m. May 23

        Refund dates for withdrawal or dropped courses may be modified at any time without prior notice in order to comply with state and federal guidelines.
