Exemption applies to tuition and mandatory fees.

Eligibility

Eligible students are those who were:

• in foster or other residential care
• adopted
• and the subject of an adoption assistance agreement under Subchapter D, Chapter 162, Texas Family Code.

How to apply

Upload the certification from Texas Department of Family and Protective Services using the directions below:

1. Login to mySFA.
2. Select "Billing" from the navigation.
3. Locate the "Billing Information" box.
4. Click the "Upload Contract / Exemption Paperwork" link.
5. Select "Foster Care & Adoption Waiver" from the drop-down menu.
6. Upload the certificate.
