Speak the world

Your fluency in another language opens doors to global careers. This degree helps you connect with people across borders through literature, culture and communication.

An ability to communicate in various languages is valuable. Especially when paired with the skills to work as a translator, an analyst, or a consultant in the international market.

Language and culture

The Bachelor of Arts in modern languages program immerses you in the study of world cultures. You'll develop practical language skills while exploring the historical and social contexts that shape how we communicate today.

This curriculum is based on the concentration you choose. The options are linguistics, Spanish, or Spanish teaching certification preparation.

All concentrations within this program require 14 credit hours of language study and 24 credit hours of coursework. The Spanish education option also requires a minor.

Priority deadlines

SFA has rolling admissions. That means you can apply to the university anytime. Although, applying early has financial and housing benefits. Make sure to check with your specific department! Some programs need extra paperwork by a certain date to consider you for the upcoming semester.
