Whether you choose to teach in a classroom or a clinical setting, you’ll help develop the next generation of nurses. In the nurse educator concentration, you'll learn to create curricula and use innovative simulation technologies.
Clinical requirements
You'll complete a minimum of 180 clinical hours in your own geographical area.
Visiting campus
As a nurse educator in the MSN program, you'll need to visit twice. The first is an orientation session. The second is a two-day skills seminar. More details are provided to admitted students.
Apply to the Master of Science in Nursing program
To be eligible for consideration into the program, you must:
- meet SFA's graduate school requirements
- achieve an undergraduate 2.5 GPA or higher overall
- have a valid, unencumbered nursing license
- and be one of the following:
- in your final year of undergraduate work
- holding a bachelor’s degree in nursing from a regionally accredited college or university
- or have 95 or more semester hours of undergraduate work at SFA and be approved as an overlap student.
It's preferred that you also have at least one year of full-time clinical experience as a registered nurse.
