Path to certification
This professional preparation makes you ready to earn certification from the Texas Education Agency for K-12 theatre instruction. You'll complete specialized coursework in theatre for educators and directing for youth alongside rigorous professional education requirements.
Clinical training
Practical experience defines your preparation. You'll engage in clinical teaching in both elementary and secondary learning communities. These experiences ensure you possess the confidence to manage a classroom and implement responsive teaching strategies.

Apply to SFA's theatre program
The Denard Haden School of Theatre and Dance application is a two-part process. Your acceptance into the theatre program is contingent upon successful admission to SFA. These two application processes may be completed at the same time.
