ODK’s requirements for membership and activity schedule may preclude distance learners from participating in the organization.

A Circle of leadership and character

This leadership honor society recognizes top SFA student leaders in five areas:

  • student activities and organizations
  • athletics
  • fine arts
  • student media
  • and government.

New ODK members are inducted each spring and enjoy scholarship opportunities, leadership development programs, career resources and access to a national network of like-minded students working to make a difference in their communities.

Criteria to apply

  • Juniors, seniors and graduate students
  • with leadership experience in one of the five areas
  • and a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

Applying for ODK

Online applications are accepted at the beginning of each regular semester and typically are due within the first three weeks of the semester.

Preliminary Membership

The ODK Circle at SFA uses an interview process with the applicants to determine "preliminary" members. These members:

  • attend general and preliminary meetings
  • participate in the "prelim project", a new project developed and executed by each semester's preliminary members.
  • and accumulate points through participation in committees, meetings and events.

Points earned are used in the evaluation process at the end of the semester when full memberships are offered. New members are inducted at the end of each semester during a formal ceremony, which is followed by a reception for current and new members and their families and guests.
