Step 3: Checking your personal graduation information
Note: If you haven't applied to graduate, this link won't be visible.
Access through mySFA
- Log in to mySFA.
- Select "Academics" from the menu.
- Locate the "Graduation" box.
- Click "View Personal Graduation Information" link.
You will need to review the information we have on file for your:
- graduation date*
- preference on participating in your commencement ceremony
- name to be printed on your diploma
- mailing address to receive your diploma
- and degree level, program and major.
*The official conferral date of degrees. Your graduation date and commencement ceremony date may differ.
Review your personal graduation information carefully for spelling and accuracy. Submit changes to graduation@sfasu.edu with your name and campus ID number.
Step 4: Confirm Graduation Details
All graduation candidates will be asked to confirm their graduation information as the Office of the Registrar begins final preparations for the upcoming graduation.
Approximately one month into your final semester, you'll receive an email from graduation@sfasu.edu and the Confirm Graduation Details link will become visible in the "Graduation" box on your "Academics" page within mySFA.
This is where you can:
- reserve guest tickets for commencement
- view your preliminary Latin Honors, if earned, to be announced at commencement
- ensure correct spelling of your name to be printed on your diploma
- include any required diacritics (ñ, é, ü) or other special characters in your diploma name
- and verify your diploma mailing address.
- Diploma addresses should be valid six to eight weeks after the commencement ceremony.
All graduating students are encouraged to upload a graduation photo and message. While optional, these entries will be displayed during the pre-ceremony slideshow and also are used to recognize those graduating students not in attendance.
- Photo submissions can only be of the graduation candidate, without anyone else in the picture.
- Photos don't need to be a "formal" graduation picture taken by a professional photographer.
When the link becomes available, pay close attention to the guidelines and criteria to ensure your photo and message are displayed!
Important: The Confirm Graduation Details form is open for a limited amount of time. Once closed, it cannot be reopened. Visit the Dates and Details page for more information on when this form will be available.
Step 5: Paying your graduation fee
Required from all students when they become candidates for graduation, this is an administrative cost for the degree audit process in order to confer degrees, including the printing and mailing of diplomas and other related expenses.
Fee details
When you apply for graduation, the graduation fee will be added to your mySFA eBill during the term in which you intend to graduate. It can be paid online or by visiting the Student Business Services on the second floor of the Austin Building.
Important note: This fee is nonrefundable. If you fail to meet your degree requirements, you must reapply for graduation and pay the fee again.
