    Malachiyah Armstrong, animation senior at Stephen F. Austin State University, earned first place in the international 2026 ACM SIGGRAPH SpaceTime competition. Armstrong was one of nine SFA students recognized in the competition.

Austin State University continues its leading role in dolphin health research using the codeveloped Passive Health Assessment in Sea Mammals, or PHASM, system, a drone capable of collecting dolphin breath for health assessment.
