World-class learning with a hometown feel

At SFA we offer our students one of the most immersive and hands-on learning experiences you can find. Our goal is to help students gain understanding of the physical aspects of the world and the ability to comprehend physical science and mathematical advancements. What students learn here benefits both our culture and future generations.

Our physics, engineering and astronomy students have access to advanced facilities, such as our new Cole STEM Building, planetarium and our observatory.

We also offer our undergraduate students a chance to work side-by-side with their professors on real research.

A message from the Department Chair, Dr. Rickey McDaniel
