Be ready for the jobs of the future

We live in exciting times. The world is more connected than ever before (even light bulbs can get on the internet!), we carry better computers around in our pockets than our parents had as kids and as if that wasn’t enough, people are training to go to Mars.

At SFA, we prepare our students for the careers in physics, engineering and astronomy that they’ve been dreaming of since they were kids. It doesn’t matter if you want to study the stars or send someone there, we make sure you’re prepared for the future.

We might not live on the moon (yet), but with the advancements that we’ve seen in science and technology in the last decade alone, there’s never been a better time to have a degree in physics, astronomy or engineering. Exciting new careers, from space tourism to designing better robots, are appearing every day.

Careers near and far

Whether you’re looking to stay close to home or see the world while you work, SFA prepares you for the future. Our graduates have gone on to exciting and innovative careers in a wide variety of industries. No matter what you want to do or where you want to work, SFA can take you there.

Daniel Campos, physics notable alumni

Campos was named a National Dell Scholar and, as a Smith-Hutson Scholarship recipient, received a full-ride scholarship to SFA in 2017. He said the support he received at SFA played an important part in his success in earning an engineering degree. In addition to serving as an Orientation leader for three years, he was an active participant in the Generation Jacks program for first-generation college students.
