This graduate concentration is part of the Master of Fine Arts in studio art program.
Turning your sketchbooks into a career
An MFA in studio art focused on drawing isn’t just about the skill of drawing. It’s about advanced visual thinking. You're training to be a professional problem solver, cultural commentator and expert storyteller. By the end of the program, you’re not just an artist. You’re a highly trained visual strategist.
Our coursework forces you to articulate why you create. Through the practice of defending your work, analyzing art history and engaging in critiques, you'll achieve the ability to pitch a successful campaign idea and learn to deconstruct visual culture. These are valuable skills for branding, advertising and user experience design.
