Fueling a healthier future
Turn your passion for food into a career that changes lives by helping patients recover and thrive through nutrition. This program is designed to prepare you to become a registered dietitian or pursue other health-related careers.
Science-backed results
Nutrition impacts every aspect of human health. You will study biochemistry and counseling to provide custom advice that addresses the root causes of disease.
A unique holistic edge
The program distinguishes itself by centering on integrative and functional nutrition. This approach moves beyond traditional nutrition therapy by:
- considering the "entire person" from a holistic perspective.
- combining conventional medical nutrition therapy with complementary and alternative strategies.
- and training you to identify and address the root causes of chronic health conditions.
Available tracks
You'll choose between two concentrations, both of which are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Registered Dietitian (RD): Specifically prepares you to obtain a verification statement needed to apply for a dietetic internship, which is the next step toward becoming an RD.
- Pre-professional: Provides the necessary science and nutrition foundation for diverse health careers, such as medical school, pharmacy, dental school, or physician assistant training, while still allowing you to pursue the path to becoming an RD.
Flexibility for your life
Balancing school with your current schedule is easier than you think. The program is designed to adapt to your lifestyle:
- Many courses are available in online (synchronous or asynchronous) formats or hybrid livestream classes.
- An academic advisor works with you to determine which science or math courses might be transferable from other institutions.
- Post-baccalaureate students looking to earn a verification statement can work with the program director to create an efficient, individualized plan.
