This concentration is part of the History, MA program.
Connect history to the community
Bridging the gap between academic research and public engagement, this concentration empowers you to take history out of the archives and into the world. You'll graduate ready to shape how society understands, interprets and preserves the stories that define our shared heritage.
Improving public appreciation
Gain practical experience in presenting complex historical narratives in accessible ways. Through this curriculum and the required thesis project, you'll manage archives, curate museum exhibits and guide preservation efforts at historic sites, corporations and non-profit organizations.
Public historians research, interpret, present and preserve history when the audience is not closely associated with academia history.
