Textbooks

A student of this institution is not under any obligation to purchase a textbook from a university-affiliated bookstore. The same textbook may also be available from an independent retailer, including an online retailer.

Student Complaints

SFA strives to ensure all students are treated in accordance with university policies. If informal procedures prove unsatisfactory, the student may file a formal written complaint to seek resolution. Procedures for filing a formal written complaint are contingent on the nature of the complaint. Ref: Complaint Resolution

SFA Non-Discrimination Statement

SFA strives to provide an educational and work environment that affirms the rights and dignity of each individual. It is the policy of the university, in accordance with federal and state law, to prohibit unlawful discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, genetic information, citizenship and veteran status. Additionally, SFA prohibits discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. The university is committed to the principles of Equal Employment Opportunity law. SFA policy outlines the university's commitment and details the procedures used to investigate complaints.

The Title IX Office is a legal resource for incidents that occur on campus or at university-sanctioned events. We recognize that how to proceed after you experience sex- or gender-based discrimination can be difficult. Your feelings about whether to report an incident and how to proceed may change over time. If you are not sure if you are ready to report, you may seek confidential assistance. If you're ready to proceed with filing an official complaint, report a violation. Note: Unless specifically indicated, this route is not confidential. Ref: HOP policy  01-305, HOP policy 01-307, Office of Title IX

Duty to report child abuse and neglect

Texas law requires anyone who has reason to believe that a child has been abused or neglected to report the suspected abuse or neglect. It is a criminal offense for a person who has cause to believe that a child's physical or mental health or welfare has been or may be adversely affected by abuse or neglect to knowingly fail to report as required by Texas law.
