    Stephen F. Austin State University’s Friends of the Visual Arts, a community organization supporting East Texas arts and art students through fundraising, has established a new scholarship honoring Dr. Jill Carrington, retiring professor of art history at SFA, and her distinguished career as an art historian, educator and dedicated supporter of the organization.

    Stephen F. Austin State University’s IEEE Robotics Team captured first place at the IEEE Region 5 Robotics Competition in March in Boulder, Colorado. SFA engineering students competed against 25 teams from 23 universities to earn top honors at the prestigious event sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ Southwestern U.S. region.     Stephen F. Austin State University’s construction management students will host the Hard Hats Open House to present their capstone project work from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 1 at The Village Nac at 1188 County Road 823 in Nacogdoches. The event is free and open to the public.
