Intended to give the general college student an opportunity to formally study music while pursuing a degree in another field, the School of Music offers a minor in music that is complementary to many undergraduate majors.
Students who graduate with a minor in music may be able to enhance their future careers with music related jobs or activities including:
- opportunities in performance and teaching
- work in the music industry
- and music composition.
For theatre majors who wish to study voice and musical theatre, view our Voice Minor for Theatre Majors.
An audition is required for applied lessons and students should contact their individual instructor for detailed information. Large and chamber ensembles are open to all qualified students through invitation or audition.
More information on the specific course requirements for the minor in music can be found the program offering webpage on the Undergraduate Bulletin or by contacting the School of Music.
