All students in the engineering programs complete a Capstone Research Project as a culminating experience in their degree program. The capstone serves as an integrative, real-world project where students apply the full breadth of knowledge and technical skills developed throughout their coursework to solve complex, open-ended problems.
Projects are often sponsored by industry partners, university research teams, or student-driven innovation initiatives. Through this experience, students strengthen their problem-solving abilities, gain team-based project management experience and demonstrate the professional communication and technical competence expected of practicing engineers.
Many projects result in research presentations, technical demonstrations, or prototype systems that directly address real-world challenges and showcase the applied, hands-on nature of the SFA Engineering programs.
