In the Master of Arts in English program, the core required classes introduce you to literary criticism, bibliography and research methods.  Beyond the core classes, you can select to study in the Literature track or the Creative Writing track.  While all students in the Creative Writing track write and defend a thesis, students in the Literature track can choose to do thesis or take comprehensive exams in three specialist areas of study.

Assistantships are available for full-time graduate students on a competitive basis.  Students on assistantships also have the opportunity to attend valuable professional development training and to teach their own sections of first-year composition.
